Ales for Tails 2016

We are very excited to be a vendor at Ales for Tails this year! Please support the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland by attending this dog-friendly beer festival. Join us on October 8th from 2-5pm at Thompson's Point for locally-brewed beers, food truck delicacies, socializing with humans and partaking in activities with canine friends. Each admission includes tasting tickets for the brewer booths. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome (and encouraged!) to attend at no additional cost. All money raised will directly support the 4,000+ homeless and displaced animals the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland cares for every year. Get...

Simple Giving

Dear Dog Lovers,The Evolved Dog was featured in this awesome book called Simple Giving by Maine writer, Jennifer Iacovelli, because we donate 5% of all sales to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society.  So this winter you can shop for your dog, #shopsmall, support American made products, AND automatically make a donation to dogs in need. If you'd like to donate DIRECTLY to Kennebec Valley Humane Society, please visit their website. This short video gives you an idea of how they serve the community...

The following conversation ensued:  theevolveddog@mrsyobe I would take this dog if you know of someone who can help transport. mrsyobeWill be coming back July 27th or so & would transport for you@theevolveddog call me tomorrow...

I made a commitment in 2015 to volunteer weekly at my local animal shelter, and it's one of the best decisions I've made this year. I spend about an hour and a half each Wednesday at the Kennebec Valley Humane Society walking dogs, doing laundry and spending time with the cats. It's honestly like taking a vacation from my life! I leave my phone locked in my car and just chill out with the dogs and cats who need a break from their cages, some exercise and some TLC. You'd be surprised, even folding their laundry is relaxing. If there's one chore at...

Giving Back: Kennebec Valley Humane Society

We all know the holidays can be hectic and stressful. It's nice to take a small break every once in a while from the shopping, decorating and cooking to do something nice for someone outside our "circle." We found this fantastic article on how to help your local animal shelter even if you can't donate money: 25 Creative Ways to Help Animal Shelters.   This holiday season, from now until the end of 2014, we will be donating 10% of all sales to our local shelter: The Kennebec Valley Humane Society.  So shop small, shop local, shop online, and support...
